From So So Def to Hollywood: Matthew Moses Reveals Music Sync Secrets
We dive into music sync licensing with Matthew Moses, creative director of Certified Deluxe, an LA-based company. Our conversation revolves around Matthew's unique vision for artists as he considers himself an ambassador who possesses a drive and determination to expand opportunities for artists in the film and television space.
Originally from Atlanta, it becomes immediately apparent that Matthew's first love was music. In this multifaceted conversation, we talk about his first internship while he was in high school. It was with the legendary label, So So Def Recordings, founded by Jermaine Dupri. This was also around the time Matthew got into the apparel industry and experienced early and great success managing a clothing line. One of his latest fashion endeavors is the brand, Collegiate Rebel.
We're later joined by A-FRAME, an artist, composer, associate and friend of Matthew's. We collectively talk about what music sync licensing is, marketing, the current state of music and each shares a wealth of advice and insight for people looking to get into sync licensing as well as some do's and don'ts when it comes to preparation and presentation.
Certified Deluxe has worked with Disney, HBO, Apple and Netflix, to name a few. This is a great discussion for anyone interested in sync and the music industry as a whole.
